Bio
I'm Noya, a loving soul with a painful past. Although my first owner didn't treat me well I don't hold any grudges against mankind. The suffering I endured when I was little didn't break my cheerful spirit and trusting nature. At the shelters, I live peacefully in a large group of dogs and enjoy playing with my peers. I yearn for human companionship and affection, and when SARA volunteers visit my attention is all theirs.
Background
In the summer of 2022, SARA team member Larbi was approached by a man asking him to take his dog or else he would kill her. Noya, who was around 6 months old at the time, had a deep cut on her neck due to being tied up on a tight rope, as well as being covered in fleas and ticks. Her owner had severely neglected her, but at least he had the decency of surrendering her. Under our care, Noya grew into a healthy and cheerful dog. Noya needs some extra care: the compression around her neck led to permanent tissue scarring and she has trouble swallowing solid food, requiring a soft diet. Noya is of medium size and weighs around 18kg. She hasn't yet been prepared for international adoption but can be ready to travel within 3-4 months.
