Bio
I’m Natia. I’m a gentle tripawd who spends most of the day relaxing and watching the world go by. I enjoy the company of dogs and have spent most of my life around cats. I'm very affectionate with my human friends at SARA. My activity level is low. I'm able to walk on leash but prefer to move at my own pace, so my forever home should have a yard or garden. I have to confess that I'm a bit of an alarm barker, but you have to consider that the shelter is a noisy and busy place and that the constant stimuli are a lot to take in. A calm environment would suit me much better. I have plenty of love to give and hope to find a gentle adopter who accepts me regardless of my ailments and keeps me in good health.
Background
Natia, born in 2021, is a road accident survivor from Marrakech. Found in critical condition, her left hind leg needed amputation. After surgeries and recovery, she joined our refuge. Initially scared, she eventually gained confidence and is now a confident dog. Natia really had bad luck in life as she also caught leishmaniasis during her time as a stray dog. Leishmaniasis cannot be cured but with daily medication and regular checkups affected dogs can live long and happy lives. However, it is impossible to predict her lifespan as the disease itself and the medication affect organ function to varying extent. Natia's adopter needs to be committed to her treatment and aware of her fragile health.
