Bio
I’m Milton, a serene one-eyed grandpa. You'll often find me nestled in a quiet corner to nap or watch my furry companions. My caretakers have grown on me and I now very much enjoy belly rubs. I grew up a stray, struggling for survival, until fate brought me to SARA many years ago. At the refuges, I've shared my space with more dogs than I can count. I get along with all my peers, regardless of their age and size. Lately I've become close friends with a lady dog - Michele - after we were paired and give a small enclosure for just the two of us. Michele and I have a lot in common: we were both strays in our youth, and are now among the eldest residents at SARA. We not only resemble one another (we're both rather large and plump) but also have the same energy level and desire for human connection. Occasionally, the SARA team takes us out on leashed walks together and we both really enjoy that. After all this time behind walls we're super excited to explore the countryside.
Background
Milton was one of SARA's early stray rescues in 2018. Subsequently, he spent several years at our Clebs shelter, living with dozens of other dogs. We brought him to our farm in 2024 to give him more comfort and to prepare him for adoption. Milton is blind on his left eye. You barely notice this when seeing him in familiar settings and even on walks, but he might become disoriented in places that he isn't familiar with.
Our Happy Tales
We have helped over 150 dogs find their forever homes, bringing joy to both the dogs and their new families.
