Bio
I'm Lou, a one-eyed dog looking for a loving home to grow old. A tumour caused me to lose one of my eyes. But I'm also lucky of sorts because this condition let me to be rescued. I'm autonomous and manage well living with a dozen other dogs at the farm refuge. From the start I charmed the SARA team with my cheerful and laidback nature. I get along with everyone and am very tolerant, although playing isn't really my thing. Instead, I like to lounge under trees and explore my surroundings. I've been around cats and enjoy their company. I'm aware that my handicap makes me less adoptable, but I'm sure there's someone out there who will see past my challenges. I will grant you my loyal love and companionship.
Background
Lou used to be a stray dog in a nearby village, until in January 2023 people alerted us of his severe eye injury - which turned out to be a cancerous growth. Lou immediately had surgery to remove the tumour. He began his recovery but persistent infection required the full removal of his left eyeball two months later. The wounds have since healed and Lou manages well with his visual impairment. Lou can be prepared for adoption abroad within 3-4 months upon request.
Our Happy Tales
