Bio
Hi, I’m Astria! I’m a sweet and friendly Husky who really enjoys being around people and getting their attention. I live with a group of other dogs and get along well with them. I’m not a troublemaker I’m quite happy to play for a while, wander around and explore, and then find a comfortable place to settle down.
I’ve been through quite a lot, but today I’m healthy, happy and cancer-free. I would love to find a family of my own, especially somewhere where I can enjoy a climate better suited to a Husky’s thick coat and active nature.
Give me affection, company and a place to call home, and I think I could make a wonderful companion.
Background
Astria was rescued after people contacted us to say that she had been abandoned. At the time, our farm shelter was full, so she initially stayed at Shams.
Not long afterwards, Astria was diagnosed with Sticker’s sarcoma, also known as canine transmissible venereal tumour (TVT). It is an unusual type of contagious cancer in dogs that can be passed between dogs through close physical contact. Fortunately, it usually responds very well to chemotherapy.
Astria returned to our farm shelter so we could care for her throughout her treatment. She completed her chemotherapy successfully and made a very good recovery. Today, she is cancer-free and living happily with a group of other dogs.
As a Husky, Astria is naturally better suited to cooler temperatures than the hot Moroccan climate, so we would particularly love to see her find a comfortable home where she can enjoy the next chapter of her life.
Our Happy Tales
We have helped over 150 dogs find their forever homes, bringing joy to both the dogs and their new families.
