Hi I'm Rhapsody, a soulful Samoyed(-mix) with trust issues but plenty of potential, too. Over the past three years I've made a lot of progress. I've become friends with my caretakers at SARA and come to truly enjoy one-on-one time and cuddle sessions with them. Due to my past experiences with humans and my limited eyesight I'm still apprehensive around strangers though. I'm ready for adoption and looking for an experienced person to give me guidance and a reassuring home environment. By local standards I'm smaller than average, measuring around 50 cm shoulder height and weighing less than 20 kg.

Background

Rhapsody is a Samoyed - pure breed or mixed, we can't tell for sure. Samoyeds are rare and expensive in Morocco we presume that she was bred for profit and kept as a pet at first. Whatever happened, Rhapsody ended pregnant, and gave birth at the dog pound, in a terribly crowded and stressful environment. We rescued Rhapsody and her newborn pups in the summer of 2023. While she weaned Roman and Ria at our farm, Rhapsody was an overly protective mum, snarling at anyone who approached them. Since then, both her pups have been adopted and Rhapsody has been prepared for adoption abroad. Since 2025 we've noticed that she's been loosing her eyesight; we are waiting for a veterinary assessment of her condition.

Welcome Your New Friend Home

After confirming your adoption, we’ll assist with travel logistics to bring your new friend home safely and cost-effectively. If you’re in Morocco or can visit, you’re welcome to pick up your dog directly from us and have a tour of the animal refuge.
