I’m Fabio, a soulful dog longing for love. At the refuge, I share my space with a dozen other dogs. My calm assertiveness has earned me respect within my pack. But honestly, I'd rather not spend the rest of my life in an enclosure. Human companionship is my utmost priority. When I spot my favorite SARA people, my attention is all theirs. I have a habit of gently hugging my human friends, hoping that they never leave again. I may be a natural leader amongst my peers, but when put in unfamiliar settings I'm a bit insecure and get startled easily.

I'm looking for an adopter with prior experience in canine education. With gentle guidance I'll become your most loving and loyal companion. My eagerness to please makes me a fast learner. I don't expect a lot of entertainment, but do count me in for countryside walks, runs and hikes. I wouldn't mind being a single dog, and I can settle into a household with other pets, too, so long as you're prepared to handle any potential displays of resource guarding on my part. I'm of above-average size by local standards, measuring around 70cm in shoulder height and weighing around 28kg.

Background

Fabio was born on a campsite by the sea in March 2021 alongside 3 siblings. When they were threatened with poisoning, the 2 months old puppies and their mother, Folie, were brought to safety at our farm shelter. Fabio and his siblings needed a lot of care at first and were nursed by Folie for a few more weeks. We later moved to the puppy pen, where they grew into adulthood among other pups their age. While his siblings have long found loving families in Germany and France, Fabio is the only one left waiting for a forever home.

After confirming your adoption, we’ll assist with travel logistics to bring your new friend home safely and cost-effectively. If you’re in Morocco or can visit, you’re welcome to pick up your dog directly from us and have a tour of the animal refuge.

We’ll evaluate your application and discuss with you whether the dog(s) you’re interested in are a good match. If not, we’ll suggest other wonderful dogs that share a similar appearance, yet better suit your lifestyle and expectations.
