I'm Vino with the mesmerising eyes, I'm lively, playful and take life as it comes. When I was little, a car left mr wit a fracture, and though the pain was unbearable I gathered all my strength and put my trust in humans to help me. During my weeks of recovery, I gradually discovered the joys of the farm shelter, where I felt safe in the presence of other puppies and friendly people. I spent time around senior dogs and rescues more badly injured than myself, and also got acquainted with the many free ranging cats at the shelter. Now that I've grown up, I share an enclosure with other youngsters with whom I love to play and run around. My scar is barely visible and you might not even notice my slight limp. I always look forward to visitors and there's a special place in my heart for my SARA friends who nursed me back to health. I'm eager to connect to people and believe I can fit in easily. I'm looking for a loving and caring adopter who will give me opportunities to socialise and exercise while respecting my physical limitations. I'm up for walks, dog parks, and why not jogging...but don't expect me to run a marathon.

Hintergrund

Vino was abut 3 months old when he was hit by a car, suffering multiple fractures in his front left leg. Kind helpers picked him off the street and brought him to us, in March 2024. As surgery was not feasible, his leg was stabilised externally and we treated the open wound for weeks, until bones and tissues grew together and he was able to stand on all fours. The recovery was successful, and Vino regained most of his mobility. When you look closely you can see that the leg is thicker where the fractures used to be and has scarring, but this barely effects his mobility. Like many accident survivors, Vino isn't really a special needs dog, but adopters need to be conscious of his fragility and avoid too much strain.
